  Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream is another installment of a popular single-player jRPG series created by Gust studio, and released by Koei Tecno in February 2022. It is the fourth game of the Mysterious subseries. During the gameplay, players once again will step into the role of the titular female protagonist, Sophie. The game features high-quality 3D graphics, full of spectacular visual effects characteristic for the anime genre. The game received very positive reviews from players.   Story Background

  The game is a direct sequel to the first game featuring Sophie. After the events from the previous game, Sophie and Plachta leave Kirchen Bell, starting a journey to earn Sophie's alchemist certificate. On their way, the girls encountered a peculiar tree. After approaching it, both of them have been sucked into a mysterious portal, sending them to an unknown place. On the other side, Sophie realizes she has been separated from Plachta.

  The girl meets Pirka and Alette, two merchants who explained to her that she's in the city of Roytale, being located in a parallel world of Erde Wiege. This realm has been created by the mysterious goddess Elvira. At this moment, Sophie begins her quest to reunite with her friend and mentor Plachta. During the adventure, she meets many unique and colorful characters and faces numerous challenges.

  Gameplay mechanics

  Atelier Sophie 2 features many gameplay mechanics characteristic for the jRPG video game genre. During the game, players observe the action from the third-person perspective. Most of the time, players will be exploring the fantasy world of Erde Wiege and fighting with various enemies. On the adventure, players gather a team of unique characters that will help Sophie during her journey. Encounters with enemies are turn-based and highly tactical. Players must carefully think about their next move to outplay clever and challenging enemies. Each member of Sophie's team features unique abilities and plays a different role. During battles, we can use various defensive and offensive spells, power up members of the team with numerous buffs, and use elemental weaknesses of enemies against them.
