Gameplay

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 builds on the aggressive, high-speed shooting of the first game. Players move quickly through combat arenas, blasting through groups of enemies with powerful firearms and close-range weapons. Malum Caedo and Nyra Veyrath offer different approaches to battle, allowing players to experience the campaign through distinct abilities, equipment, and combat styles.

The campaign introduces additional weapons and increasingly dangerous enemies, including Bloodletters and their daemonic Juggernauts. Story

The story begins directly after the events of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. The campaign sends the player into new regions of the Warhammer 40,000 universe on another mission to destroy heretics and hostile forces threatening the Imperium.

Players can take control of Malum Caedo, the returning Ultramarine veteran, or Nyra Veyrath, a swift and battle-hardened Sister of Battle. Their mission takes them across unfamiliar worlds filled with enemy factions, daemonic creatures, and increasingly dangerous opposition.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 combines the dark science-fiction atmosphere of Warhammer 40,000 with a deliberately retro visual style inspired by 1990s first-person shooters. Pixel-based enemies and effects are mixed with detailed environments, modern lighting, explosive combat effects, blood, and gore.

The environments range from immense industrial hive cities to dense jungle and swamp biomes, giving each part of the campaign a distinct appearance while preserving the series' combination of grimdark architecture and old-school shooter aesthetics.
