A desperate attempt to end decades-long conflict resulted in the apocalypse. A powerful spell cast by the mages caused near-complete destruction. From the purple mist that appeared in the aftermath came horrible monsters that left only death in their wake. There are very few safe places left, and each night the monsters come again. Now a handful of heroes must protect mages hoping to cast The Last Spell in a desperate attempt to rid the world of magic and bloodthirsty beasts.

Gameplay

The Last Spell is all about defending your town from enemies. Your primary line of defence are heroes who will level up and acquire new gear, perks, traits statistics and so on. You can also build structures like towers or mana wells to support your brave combatants. You need to carefully decide what will help you best in upcoming battles. But you have limited time for such preparations. Once the sun sets, the bloodthirsty monster will come out of hiding and begin an assault. Then your defences will be put to the test, and should they not be enough you shall perish. And like in any other good rougelite, it'll happen to you a lot.

RPG

When it comes to choosing how you want your heroes to progress, you have quite a few options. By equipping them with various weapons, perks and skills, you can create a character that suits your needs just right. Getting access to powerful items might give you an edge, but be careful, the monsters severely outnumber you and come in many shapes and sizes. You might want to diverse your characters, so they can deal with any kind of threat.

Rougelite at heart

Enemy attacks, as well as various pieces of equipment, weapons or trinkets, are generated procedurally and so each time you play, the game will look a little bit different. You are never certain what to expect, and that makes it even more fun. And if you fail... That's the spirit of rougelites, alright. You still learn and become stronger with each attempt.
